Hypnosis for Rhode Island and South Eastern Massachusetts LGBTQ Communities
Over my 17 years in practice I have helped many people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender or just plain sexually unique achieve their goals through hypnosis and hypnotic coaching. Sometimes I know their sexual identity: sometimes I don’t. I never ask – though you are welcome to disclose if you feel your orientation is related to your issue.
But I think it may be important for you to know
that my hypnotic coaching practice is a judgement free zone.
People who identify as LGBTQ come to hypnosis for the exactly same reasons as anyone: quitting smoking, losing weight, handling stress, dealing with difficult relationships, study skills, career help, confidence, pain management, habit change (including alcohol, drug use as well as nail biting, procrastination, etc), handling fears such as flying, driving and heights. For most issues I work with sexual orientation is completely irrelevant and, frankly, none of my business.
Beyond these I have gained an understanding over the years of the special challenges LGBTQ people face in daily life:
- Dealing with family, employers and friends who may not accept or understand that being LGBT or Q is not a choice, but simply an expression of who you are.
- Self-acceptance despite a mainstream (“straight” culture) that is still wrapping its head around the idea that some people simply don’t fit into that mold.
- Coping with outright prejudice.
I have helped LGBTQ people use hypnosis and the power of the subconscious mind to get over the loss of partners, come out to family and go through transition and gender re-assignment.
I don’t claim to specialize in LGBTQ issues, just want to assure you of a safe and welcoming place to work on whatever issue you want to change in your life through
