Hypnotic Coaching to Get Behind The Wheel With Confidence
People lose confidence in their ability to drive for a variety of reasons. Some people were nervous from the first day of driver’s education class. Others develop fear of driving after years of being a normal driver. Sometimes driving fear happens because of an incident such as an accident or a series of accidents. But it can also come about for seemingly unrelated stressors such a death of a loved one or other “overwhelming” circumstances.
Hypnotic Coaching: Your MAP to Confident Driving
This is usually a three session process with hypnosis in all three sessions (though you might consider 5 or more sessions if you feel the problem is especially severe, expecting to start benefiting significantly starting over the first three but adding additional sessions as “insurance”).
Confident Driving Hypnosis Session One
We talk about your fears and where they may have come from. Hypnosis in session one is designed to address removing the fear as well as practicing driving confidently under hypnosis. Homework consists of listening to the recording and doing some practice runs.
Confident Driving Hypnosis Session Two
In session two we review your progress and dive a little deeper into the causes and the solution. In session two, I record a CD (you can also of course upload it to your smart phone) that you listen to while you are driving – kind of like having your hypnotic coach in the car with you urging you on.
Confident Driving Hypnosis Session Three
Session three is generally purely positive – creating the mindset of a confident driver.
If You Are in Psychotherapy
If your fear of driving is part of a broader issue – a diagnosed condition such as anxiety or panic attacks or are under a therapist’s care for anxiety, I am happy to work with you but only with the knowledge and approval of your therapist.
After you fill out the intake form, I will send a note to your therapist soliciting their input.
Hypnotic Coaching is not psychotherapy but can be very effective as a supplement to psychotherapy provided your hypnotist and therapist are working together for your welfare and on the same team.
