Nail-Biting Habit Hypnosis
An onychophagiaist is someone who habitually bites his or her nails. Yes, it is usually thought of as a kid problem. But for many adults, nail-biting is so well-established that they barely realize they are doing it.
The problem? Nail-biting looks bad to others. People see a nail biter as nervous and unsure of themselves. Plus in this germ-conscious world, no one wants to shake hands with someone who’s just put his or her fingers in their mouth. As a former nail-biter myself, I know exactly what you are going through.
Sadly, nail biting is often a very difficult habit to break for adults.
As a hypnotist, I approach nail biting as a sign of stress and nervousness that has the added dimension of being a habit that provides emotional relief. I look at helping people break free of nail biting in a manner similar to my stop smoking program. The nail biting habit is hypnotically removed and a new positive habit is inserted as a replacement. .
I typically help nail biters become free in 1-2 sessions over ZOOM or in the office The sessions are relaxing and can also make a difference in the client’s overall sense of confidence and well-being.
My clients have ranged from teenagers to people in their 60s and beyond. All have one thing in common: they are sick of looking like nervous wrecks and crave a more relaxed way of being.
As a former nail-biter myself (the kind whose fingers would bleed sometimes), I have an understanding of the issue and its correction. Give me a call today and schedule a celebratory manicure for next month.
